Wisdom I've Recieved

A collection of books, authors, and texts that have shaped my understanding, offered solace and reflection, and inspired my path

Books on my shelf

These are resources that I have found valuable in my work and personal practice. In some cases, they are written by teachers or mentors whose work has shaped my learning. Unless otherwise noted, I receive no compensation for recommending these resources

The Power of Vulnerability by Brune Brown
A compassionate exploration of vulnerability, shame, courage, belonging, and joy. I especially appreciate Brune's warmth, humour and ability to storytell which makes this an engaging and accessible read (or listen!). It's one of the resources I recommend most to clients.

Especially valuable for those who find themselves wondering, why is it so hard to simply feel happy?

Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life by Claudia Welsh
One of my favourites books on integrative health. Claudia beautifully bridges Western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayruveda, making complex topics feel approachable while offering simple, practical ways to support overall wellbeing in a holistic way.

Great for women looking for a practical and integrative approach to stress, hormones, and overall wellbeing - particularly during times of increased stress (mental or physical) or hormonal change.

The Innate Design by Melissa Aguirre & Kyle Hoedebecke
An "interdisciplinary collaboration" between a Certified Yoga Therapist and a Family Physician, this book offers a well-rounded introduction to yoga philosophy and integrative health.  It thoughtfully bridges modern science with traditional yogic concepts and incorporates practical tools and reflective practices (which I always appreciate).

Valuable for anyone interested in exploring the intersection of yoga, science, and whole-person wellbeing.

A special note about this resource in particular is that Melissa Aguirre has been my mentor in Vedic Astrology and Yoga Nidra; her work and approach has meaningfully influenced my own learning and practice

Radiant Rest by Tracee Stanley
This book is a gentle, trauma-informed introduction to Yoga Nidra. Tracee weaves together contemplative practice, yoga philosophy, and the art of deep rest while offering reflective questions and practices that invite both personal insight and connection with the rhythms of the natural world

I am currently reading this book and have found it to be a thoughtful and enriching resource
